The ultimate weekend breakfast. Soft, pillowy brioche soaked in a rich vanilla custard and pan-fried to
golden perfection.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 slices brioche bread
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar.
- In a shallow dish (pie pans work great), whisk together the cinnamon mixture, eggs, milk, and
vanilla extract.
- Melt some of the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Dip bread slices into the egg
mixture, allowing it to soak in for a few seconds on each side.
- Place bread in the hot skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per
side. Repeat with remaining bread. serve warm with maple syrup.
